Šimanov (German Kellersdorf , also Schimanow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located twelve kilometers southeast of Humpolec and belongs to the Okres Jihlava .

geography

Šimanov is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the western slope of the Holubovsko hill (675 m) above the Hejnický brook valley. The Maršovský potok rises in Šimanov. To the northwest is the Hajnice pond, south of the Maršovský rybník and to the east of the Trojanský rybník. The Strážník (713 m) rises to the north and the Čihadlo (664 m) to the west.

Neighboring towns are Kalhov , Obora and Bethan in the north, Větrný Jeníkov in the Northeast, Struhovec and U Trojanů the east, Hlávkov and Bílý Kámen to the southeast, Jiřín, U Šeredů and Maršov in the south, Šimanovský Dvůr and Zbilidy in the southwest, Březina, Camrda, Dudín and Buková to the west and Ústí and Branišov to the northwest.

history

The village on the old path between Humpolec and Jihlava was probably created by charcoal burners around 1260. The first written mention of the place belonging to the Seelau monastery took place in 1341. The Czech name is derived from a locator Šimon, the German name Kellersdorf developed over time from Köhlersdorf . In 1436, King Sigismund, with the consent of the abbot who had fled to Iglau, gave the Seau monastery property to the protection and administration of Nikolaus Trčka von Lípa . After Georg von Podiebrad had assigned the pledged monastery property to the Trčka von Lípa in 1468 in the land table , Burian Trčka von Lípa established the Jenikau dominion . 1601 Trčka sold selected from the parties and the town Windig Jenikau with brewery and Vorwerkshof and 22 villages, including Buková, Chyška , Dudin , Scheibel village , Mysletín , Winau , Opatau , Keller village Vorlovy, Polánky, Neustift , Prusdorf and bollard churches existing rule Jenikau to Matthias Stubegg Knight of Königstein ( Matyáš Štubík z Königštejna ) , who came from an ennobled Iglauer patrician family . His sons shared the property in 1606.

After the abolition of patrimonial Šimanov / Kellersdorf formed a municipality in the Deutschbrod district from 1850 . The first elected mayor was the farmer Jakub Novák. At the beginning of the 20th century, Šimanov was assigned to the Humpolec district. Since 1961 the municipality belongs to the Okres Jihlava .

Since February 1, 2009, the community has been administered by an administrative clerk.
