history
The place was created during the colonization of the Bohemian border areas to Moravia by the Seelau monastery with German settlers. The first written mention of Jesena took place in 1226 together with other places in a certificate of ownership by Honorius III. for the monastery. In 1359 the village was called Jezena . In 1390 a pond was mentioned between the villages of Zbylyd and Gezena , which is probably the Maršovský rybník. In 1436 , King Sigismund handed over the Seelau monastery property, orphaned during the Hussite Wars , to the protection and administration of Nikolaus Trčka von Lípas with the consent of the abbot who had fled to Iglau . In 1458 Georg von Podiebrad also assigned the monastery property to Trčka von Lípa in the land table . The judge from Deutsch Gießhübel exercised the lower jurisdiction . In 1596 Wilhelm Trčka von Lípa Jesau and the neighboring land up to the Igel sold to the city of Iglau , which combined the newly acquired property in the New Estate in Bohemia . During the Thirty Years War the village became deserted; In 1630 only nine of the 15 properties were managed. Jesau remained in the possession of the city of Iglauer until 1848. The village belonged to the Iglauer Sprachinsel and was multilingual.
After the abolition of patrimonial Jesau / Jezina formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Steindorf in the Polish district . In 1855 a spirit distillery was built, which was converted into a starch factory in 1878. In 1878 the place was assigned to the Deutschbrod district . Potash was produced in Jesau until 1880 . After 1900 Jesau became independent. In 1922 the starch plant burned down. In 1925 there was a sawmill and two grinding mills in Jesau / Ježená. After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled . In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Jihlava-okolí and since 1961 it has belonged to the Okres Jihlava .
