Čížov (German Zeisau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers south of the city center of Jihlava in Moravia and belongs to the Okres Jihlava .
geography
Čížov is located on the right side of the Jihlávka river at the confluence of the Čížovský creek. The Holý vrch (660 m) rises to the east, the Vraní Kopec (606 m) to the southwest and the Popický vrch (682 m) to the west. The European route 59 / state road I / 38 between Jihlava and Znojmo runs through the village .
Neighboring towns are Pístov and Rančířov in the north, Studénky and Puklice in the north-east, Příseka in the east, Rosice in the south-east, Cerekvička in the south, Vílanec , Jezdovice and Salavice in the south-west, Popice, Okrouhlík and Kostelec in the west and Dvorce , Vysoká- west and Hosov in the north.
history
The village was first mentioned in documents in 1358.
After the abolition of patrimonial Čížov / Zeisau formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Rancířov / Ranzen in the district administration Jihlava . In 1873 the political municipality Čížov / Zeisau was established. In 1961 Čížov was incorporated into Vílanec and at the beginning of 1989 together with this to Jihlava. On December 11, 1991, the Interior Ministry approved the decision of the Jihlava City Council to separate from Čížov. Since 1992 Čížov has formed its own municipality again.
