Ústí , until 1921: Oustí (German Austie ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 15 kilometers northwest of Jihlava and belongs to the Okres Jihlava .

geography

Ústí is located in the Křemešnická vrchovina, a part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The village is on the right side of the Hejnický potok on the Panský Kopec hill. To the west rise the Bojanov (665 m) and Novákovsko (610 m), south of the Čihadlo (664 m) and to the east the Strážník (713 m).

Neighboring towns are Krasoňov, Němeček and Hejště in the north, Pavlov u Herálce in the northeast, Kalhov in the east, Branišov and Šimanov in the southeast, Zbilidy in the south, Dudín and Buková in the southwest, Mysletín in the west and Staré Bříště in the northwest.

history

The first documentary mention of the place took place in 1272 in the course of the sale of the mining rights to the silver mines of Oustí to the city of Jihlava . In 1415 the place was mentioned as part of the Windig Jenikau rule . In 1453 the village belonged to Nikolaus Trčka von Lípa , the following year his son Burian inherited the rule. In 1601 the Trčka von Lípa sold the property to Matthias Stubegg Ritter von Königstein ( Matyáš Štubík z Königštejna ). In 1619 Magdalena Trčka von Lobkowitz became the owner of the village. During the Thirty Years' War, Oustí was separated from Windig Jenikau and from 1635 it belonged to the Branišov estate along with Mysletín, Šimanov, Buková, Vorlovi and the Hejště farm. Branišov became the real center of the rulership by 1770, when the church and the rectory were built. After Joseph II's edict of 1775, according to which a chapel had to be built in every village that did not have a church, the village chapel of Oustí was built.

The name of the village was changed to Ústí in 1921. The legal basis for this was the review of all place names in the country ordered by the Czechoslovak government on April 14, 1920.
