history

The first written mention of Fussdorf comes from the year 1359. The settlement at a ford through the hedgehogs was in the Altenberg silver mining area. Fußdorf was parish to the Iglauer Stadtkirche St. Jakob. In 1576 the place was called Fueßdorf or Ranczirzov . The Czech name is derived from a knight family Ranožír, who belonged to the ancestors of the Lords of Prashma and was traceable between 1225 and 1238.

Fußdorf emerged as a rural settlement and quickly transformed into a mountain village whose property belonged to Iglauer citizens. At the end of the 14th century, the Pilgramer family owned the entire village. From 1373 onwards, the brothers Jacob and Johann Pilgramer were inheritors of Fußdorf, who were among the richest citizens of the city. Margarethe Pilgramer, who had owned Fußdorf since 1488, left her income from the village to the Jihlava Dominicans and the village to the Jihlava Council in 1495. The Iglauer Rat, together with the cloth makers' guild and the Dominican monastery, led a long water dispute with Jaroslav Trčka from Lípa , the owner of the Bohemian side. This was settled in 1576 by a commission convened by Emperor Maximilian . In 1623 the city of Iglau lost the goods in Fußdorf as punishment for participating in the uprising of the estates. The Dominican monastery received the confiscated property. After its abolition, Fußdorf was administered by the religious fund from 1783. He leased the goods in 1798 to Friedrich and Marie Eleonore Goldlin, who bought them in 1800. Seven years later, the Iglau hereditary postmaster Georg Prokop von Lilienthal acquired the village. Gut Fußdorf included a brewery, distillery, starch factory and a castle-like residence including 311 hectares of land. Fußdorf was mostly inhabited by Germans and belonged to the Iglauer Sprachinsel. In 1842 the place consisted of 34 houses and had 364 inhabitants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Fusdorf formed from 1850 a district of the municipality of Hossau in the Iglau district. After the Second World War, the German population was expelled . The owner of the estate František Šašek, who had already been expropriated by the National Socialists in 1939, lost his property again in 1948 by the communists. In 1948 the village of Rantířov was established in the Okres Jihlava-okolí. In 1989 it was incorporated into Jihlava, which existed until 1990. In 1991, Vladimír Šašek received the goods back in restitution.
