Panské Dubenky (German Herrndubenken ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 20 kilometers northeast of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to the Okres Jihlava .
geography
Panské Dubenky is located northwest of the Javořická vrchovina, the highest part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The place lies on a hill between the valleys of the Hamerský potok and the Doubravský potok. The railway from Jindřichův Hradec to Pelhřimov / Jihlava runs north of the village , the nearest train station is at Horní Vilímeč.
Neighboring towns are Horní Vilímeč in the north, Býkovec in the northeast, Klatovec in the east, Horní Pole in the southeast, Domašín in the south, Doubrava and Zahrádky in the southwest, Horní Olešná in the west and Prostý in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of the Moravian village on the border with Bohemia comes from the year 1355. The estate was a Vladikensitz . At the end of the 17th century, after the death of Anna Strahovský von Dubenky, the estate fell to the Knights of Hoslau. They were strict Catholics and tried to bring their subjects, who belonged to the Bohemian Brethren Congregation or the Protestant Church, back to Catholicism by punishing them. The next owner of Panské Dubenky was Johann Joachim Slavata on Telč .
A quarry was operated south of the village. The two-mica granite obtained was processed into jewelry.
Panské Dubenky is a Catholic parish for the villages of Býkovec, Kaliště , Klatovec and Prostý.
