Giso Weissbach

Giso Weißbach (born December 8, 1940 in Schlößchen ) is a German actor and singer.

Life

After completing his actor training, stage engagements followed in Parchim, Neustrelitz and Weimar. In the early 1970s he made his debut with a small film role in Rolf Römer's drama He, Du! next to Annekathrin Bürger and Frank Obermann . Two years later he became known to a larger audience with the male lead role of the communist scout Fred Laurenz in the multi-part television series The Light of the Black Candle . This was followed by other film and television assignments for DEFA and television in the GDR , but also stage work and appearances in musicals. In 2010 he published his memoir Because I'm a Sunday Child Memories. From the life of an unshakable optimist (Das Neue Leben, Berlin).
