content

Andreas Jungmann wants to become a professional soldier in the National People's Army . However, this meets with the resistance of his pregnant wife Doris, since this means a severe limitation of the time together and possible for the child. She threatens to terminate the pregnancy, which Andreas cannot prevent because of a maneuvering exercise followed by a 25 km walk as an endurance test. He explains that for him the "class mandate" is not an empty word. At the last second, Andreas' superior Doris can convince in the abortion clinic that private interests have to take second place to the concerns of society.
