Dauba district

The Dauba District ( Czech : Okresní hejtmanství Dubá , politický okres Dubá ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in northern Bohemia in Liberecký kraj and Ústecký kraj ( Okres Česká Lípa or Okres Litoměřice ). The seat of the district administration was the city of Dauba (Dubá). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Dauba District was formed in 1868 from the Dauba (Czech: soudní okres Dubá ) and Wegstädtl ( Štěti ) judicial districts .

Dauba District was home to 30,391 people in 1869, with the district covering an area of ​​7.5 square miles and 70 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 26,413 people who lived in an area of ​​430.44 km² or in 68 communities.

The Dauba District covered an area of ​​430.44 km² and a population of 25,392 people in 1910. In 1910, 931 of the inhabitants stated Czech and 24,379 German as their colloquial language. Furthermore, 82 people who speak another language or who are foreign to the state lived in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 68 communities and 70 cadastral communities.
