Melnik district

The district of Melnik ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Mělník ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas of Central Bohemia in today's Středočeský kraj ( Okres Mělník ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Melnik district was formed in 1868 from the court district of the same name Melnik ( Czech soudní okres Mělník ).

The district was home to 32,706 people in 1869, with the district encompassing an area of ​​6.7 square miles and 57 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 41,579 people who lived in an area of ​​413.42 km² or in 63 communities.

The Melnik district covered an area of ​​413.41 km² in 1910 and housed a population of 43,137 people. Of the inhabitants in 1910, 42,892 stated Czech and 72 German as their colloquial language. Furthermore, 233 people who speak other languages ​​or who are foreign to the state lived in the district. A judicial district with a total of 64 communities and 74 cadastral communities belonged to the district.
