Schluckenau district

The Schluckenau District ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Sluknov, politický okres Šluknov ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in western Bohemia in today's Ústecký kraj ( Okres Děčín ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Schluckenau district was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts Schluckenau ( Czech soudní okres Sluknov ) and Hainspach ( Haňšpach ).

The Schluckenau district lived 46,599 people in 1869, the district comprising an area of ​​3.3 square miles and 22 parishes.

In 1900 the district accommodated 52,365 people who lived in an area of ​​190.85 km² or in 23 communities.

In 1910 the Schluckenau district covered an area of ​​190.83 km² and a population of 57,590 people. Of the inhabitants, 92 had given Czech and 55,656 German as their colloquial language. In addition, there lived in the district in 1842 foreign speakers or foreigners. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 23 communities and 26 cadastral communities.
