Bohemian Brod district

The Bohemian Brod District ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Český Brod ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in the Central Bohemian Region or in today's districts Okres Kolín and Okres Praha-východ . The seat of the district administration was the town of Bohemian Brod (Český Brod). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The Bohemian Brod District was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts Bohemian Brod ( Czech soudní okres Český Brod ), and Schwarzkosteletz ( Kostelec nad Černými Lesy ) and Ríčan ( Říčany ).

58,849 people lived in the Bohemian Brod district in 1869, the district comprising an area of ​​12.0 square miles and 95 parishes.

In 1900 the district housed 46,567 people who lived in an area of ​​470.86 km² or in 72 communities.

The Bohemian Brod district covered an area of ​​470.85 km² in 1910 and had a population of 48,038 people. In 1910, 59 of the inhabitants stated German and 47,915 Czech as their colloquial language. In addition, there were 46 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the district. The district included two judicial districts with a total of 73 communities and 76 cadastral communities.
