The Starkenbach District ( Okresní hejtmanství Jilemnice in Czech ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district comprised areas in the north of Bohemia in what is now Okres Semily . The seat of the district administration was the town of Starkenbach ( Jilemnice ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

The district Starkenbach was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts Rochlitz an der Iser ( Czech Soudní okres Rokytnice nad Jizerou ) and the judicial district Starkenbach with Starkenbach ( Jilemnice ).
