It included areas in the north of Bohemia. The center and seat of the judicial district was the city of Hochstadt an der Jizera (Vysoké nad Jizerou). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1991 .

history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The area of the later judicial district of Hochstadt an der Iser initially belonged to the Jičin district and was initially divided into the judicial districts of Rochlitz an der Iser , Semil and Eisenbrod . It was not until 1876 that the Czech-speaking municipalities of Oberduschitz, Glasersdorf, Jablonetz, Passek, Třič and Hochstadt became the district of Rochlitz, the municipalities of Altendorf, Helkowitz, Příwlak and Ruppersdorf from the judicial district of Semil and the communities of Stanow, Woleschnitz and Lhotka from the judicial district of Eisenbrod Hochstadt an der Iser judicial district was formed. The creation of the Hochstadt judicial district became officially effective on October 1, 1876, with the newly created judicial district becoming part of the Starkenbach district.

In 1900, 18,266 people lived in the judicial district of Hochstadt an der Iser. In 1910 it had a population of 12,892 people, of whom 642 gave German (5.0%) and 12,225 Czech (94.8%) as the colloquial language. There were also 25 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the judicial district.

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Hochstadt an der Iser came completely to the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the court division essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area was added to the district of Starkenbach , later the area was divided. After the Second World War, the area belonged to the Okres Semily , but its authorities lost their administrative powers in the course of an administrative reform in 2003. Since then, these have been perceived by the municipalities and the Liberecký kraj , and the area around Rokytnice has belonged to the beginning of the 21st century.
