Jablonec nad Jizerou (German Jablonetz an der Iser ) is a town in Okres Semily , Liberecký kraj in the Czech Republic . It lies at the foot of the Giant Mountains .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1492. In 1899 Jablonetz got a station on the Starkenbach – Rochlitz local line .

The town of Jablonec nad Jizerou consists of the districts of Blansko, Bratrouchov ( Bratrochow ) Buřany ( Buran ), Dolní Dušnice ( Niederduschnitz ), Dolní Tříč ( sub Chi Czech ), Horní Dušnice ( Oberduschnitz ) Hradsko, Jablonec nad Jizerou ( Jablonetz ) Končiny ( Kontschin ), Stromkovice ( Stromkowitz ) and Vojtěšice ( Wojteschitz ). Basic settlement units are Bratrouchov, Brno ( Berno ) Buřany, Dolní Dušnice, Dolní Tříč, Dolní Tříč-sever, Horní Dušnice, Jablonec nad Jizerou, Končiny, Přední Blansko ( Vorderblansko ) Stromkovice, Vojtěšice and Zadní Blansko ( Hinterblansko ).
The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Bratrouchov, Buřany, Horní Dušnice, Jablonec nad Jizerou and Stromkovice.
