In the middle of the 19th century the market town belonged to the Lomnitz district of the Bohemian district of Gitschin. Attractions

There are 2 churches in the village.

  • Evangelical Prayer House HB - The construction took place following the Joseph II tolerance patent from 1781. On the outskirts of the community, 117 Protestants, mostly members of the Helventic faith, found a spiritual home. This prayer house had neither a tower nor neat windows. It was built in the neoclassical style and has been in use since 1786 until today. The door, which can still be seen today, dates from this year with a verse from Jak 5,9, which greets those entering: "See, the judge stands at the door". In 1789 the parsonage was built next to the prayer house. After the Evangelical Congregation HB and the Evangelical Congregation AB were united in the Evangelical Church of the Bohemian Brothers in 1918 , the services were held exclusively in this house of prayer.
  • Evangelical Prayer House AB - After the Lutheran families initially celebrated their services in the Evangelical Prayer House HB, in 1838 they were allowed to build their own prayer house on the slope above the river Oleška, which was inaugurated in 1842. With a donation from Dresden, a bell tower could be added and a cemetery opened. Nowadays the church and cemetery are falling into disrepair, although great efforts are being made to preserve this area, which has been a listed building since 2001.
