The judicial district Asch ( Czech : soudní okres Aš ) was a judicial district in the crown land of Bohemia, which was subordinate to the district court Asch . It covered areas in the extreme northwest of Bohemia in the northwest of today's Okres Cheb . The center of the judicial district was the city of Asch (Aš). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1991 .

history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The judicial district of Asch initially belonged to the Eger district and in 1854 comprised the 23 cadastral communities of Asch, Friedrichsreuth, Gottmannsgrün, Grün, Haslau, Himmelreich, Hirschfeld, Krugsreuth, Lindau, Mähring, Nassengrub, Neuberg, Neuenbrand, Niederreuth, Oberreuth, Ottengrün, Rommersreuth, Roßbach, Signs, Schönbach, Steingrün, Thonbrunn and Wernersreuth. In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district of Asch also formed its own political district, the district of Asch .

In the judicial district of Asch there were 27,911 people in 1869, compared with 34,264 in 1900.

The judicial district of Asch had a population of 44,896 in 1910, of whom 41,265 stated German and only 5 Czech as a colloquial language. There were also 3,626 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the judicial district.

As a result of the border provisions of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Asch came completely to the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the division of courts essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area became part of the Asch district and the Sudetenland . In 1960 the Okres Cheb was formed from the districts of Aš, Cheb and parts of Mariánské Lázně , and the area of the former judicial district still belongs to this day.

After the district authorities lost their administrative powers in the course of an administrative reform in 2003, these are taken over by the municipalities or Karlovarský kraj , to which the area around Aš has belonged since the beginning of the 21st century.
