history
The place was first mentioned in 1569 as a property of the von Zedtwitz family . In 1849 the place came from the Liebenstein lordship to the judicial district Asch or district Asch and became part of Rommersreuth. In the village there was a stately forester's house, two inns and the fucking (bag production) with a grinding mill located directly on the Bavarian border.
In 1888, Neuenbrand broke away from Rommersreuth and formed its own community in the Asch district. In 1939 Neuenbrand had 413 inhabitants. Between 1938 and 1945 the community was part of the Asch district . In 1948 it was incorporated into Nassengrub and in the same year it was renamed Nový Žďár. After the Iron Curtain was erected, most of the houses were demolished. After the Okres Aš was abolished, the place came to Okres Cheb in late 1960 . At the beginning of 1976 Nový Žďár was incorporated into Aš together with Mokřiny. The 2001 census counted 11 residential buildings and 24 residents.
