Vernéřov ( German Wernersreuth ) is a district of the city of Aš in the Czech Republic .
geography
Geographical location
Vernéřov is located three kilometers east of Aš near the border with Germany and belongs to the Okres Cheb . The location is on the left bank of the White Elster in the Elster Mountains . The Vyhlídka ( Leitenberg , 678 m) rises to the north, the Stráž ( Wachtberg , 716 m) to the east, the Záhoř (744 m) southeast, the Skřivánčí vrch ( Lerchenberg , 736 m) to the west and the Háj ( Hainberg , 757 m ) to the northwest ). The White Elster rises three and a half kilometers southeast.

Neighboring towns are Dolní Paseky in the north, Gürth and Kleedorf in the northeast, Horní Paseky , Röthenbach and Bad Brambach in the east, Hohendorf , Bärendorf and Výhledy in the southeast, Nebesa in the south, Mokřiny in the southwest, Aš in the west and Mikulov, Krásná and Marak in the northwest .
history
The place is first mentioned in 1392 as Wernhersrewt . The von Zedtwitz family, as the owners of the place, fought with the citizens of Eger about the processing of tin . The mining of tin ore also played an important role in the later centuries.
In the second half of the 18th century, the Rodenbach colony, which was also called Salerberg and later merged with Wernersreuth, was established southeast of the village .
During the Habsburg Monarchy, the community belonged to the judicial district of Asch or District Asch .
In Vernéřov there is a World War I monument , a school building and the St. Peter's Spring.
