history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1291 as the property of the Notthracht family on Wildstein . The place and other goods of the family were given to the Nuremberg burgrave Friedrich III. pledged. Via the Neuberg family and the town of Eger , the place finally passed into the possession of the Zedtwitz family in 1534 , who already had considerable property in the Ascher Ländchen .
After the abolition of patrimonial Oberreuth formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Wernersreuth in the judicial district Asch or district Asch . In 1874 Oberreuth broke up and became its own municipality. A major fire in 1917 destroyed numerous buildings and many families emigrated. In 1939 Oberreuth had 241 inhabitants.
Between 1938 and 1945 the community was part of the German district of Asch . In 1948, Horní Reuth was renamed Horní Paseky . After the Germans were expelled in 1945, the town became part of the restricted area in 1950 and a guard was stationed there. After the Okres Aš was abolished, Horní Paseky came to the Okres Cheb at the end of 1960 and was also incorporated into Vernéřov . In 1968 the Red Army took over the border guard and had the village evacuated. In the 1970s, Horní Paseky was demolished and to the west of it, prefabricated buildings were built for the Soviet soldiers. Together with Vernéřov , it was incorporated into Aš in early 1976 . After the soldiers withdrew, the place was initially deserted and has only been inhabited again since 1997. The 2001 census counted three houses and 52 residents.
