Sicogon is a Philippine island in the province of Iloilo , south of the Gigantes Islands and southeast of the island of Calagnaan , off the island of Panay . It is located west of Bancal Bay and is administered by the municipality of Carles . On the island there are the three barangays Alipata, Buaya and San Fernando. The population of the three barangays was 4,977 in 2007.

The island has a size of 11.60 km² and is covered with dense forest. The highest point on the island is Mount Opao, on which the island's most important source of drinking water is located. The whole island can be seen from this mountain. The coasts have long sandy beaches with numerous coral reefs in front of them. The island can be reached from the fishing ports in the Barangay Bancal and from the municipality of Estancia . The passage by motorboat takes 30 to 45 minutes.
