Batbatan Island is an island in the Antique Province of the Philippines . It is located about 27 km off the west coast of Panay Island in the Cuyo East Passage, a sea area in the north of the Sulu Sea . The island has an area of ​​approximately 5 km² and is administered by the municipality of Culasi . The Tangay ethnic group, who speak the Cuyonin language, inhabit the island. In the 2007 census, exactly 2300 inhabitants were registered. The Sitios Tigbao, Bunlao, Kawit, Mag-ayad, Rikudo, Camanga and Batbat together form the Barangay Batbatan Island. The island was first mentioned in 1580.

The approximately 10 km long coastline is preceded by numerous coral reefs and sea ​​grass meadows . The island's topography is hilly; numerous hiking trails cross the island, which also lead to the numerous caves. The island's vegetation is dominated by tropical rainforest , which is home to monkeys, bats and numerous species of birds. However, the island has not yet been scientifically researched. The residents worship the mystical figure of Lakeng Inggo, who is ritually worshiped.

There is a ferry connection to the island from the port in Culasi, the journey time takes about two hours.
