Binuluangan Island is a Philippine island in the province of Iloilo . It is located about 600 m from Gogo Point, on the northeast coast of Panay Island . Southeast of the island are Calagnaan Island 2 km away and Sicogon 10 km away . To the northeast, 18 km away, are the Gigantes Islands in the Visayas Sea . Binuluangan Island lies in front of Bancal Bay and is administered by the Greater Carles community .

On the island is the Barangay Binuluangan of the same name , which is described as village and had 1593 inhabitants in 2007. According to tradition, the island was once connected to Panay Island and was formerly known as Baliw . Due to the strong tides and erosion, the island was created, which was called Buluang , which was also the name of a Sitios . The Sitio was later renamed Binuluangan and an independent barangay, its population today mainly lives from fishing .

The topography of the island is characterized by a hilly terrain that rises in the interior of the island to 58 meters above sea level. The coastline of the approximately 8 km long and 4 km wide island is lined with sandy beaches, cliffs and mangrove forests . The southern Gogo Passage separates the island from Panay and is characterized by numerous shallows. The Nilidlaran Passage separates Binuluangan and Calagnaan Island, and it contains extensive coral reefs . The vegetation of the island consists of a dense tropical rainforest vegetation, which has a very original character.

There are no ferry connections to the island, outrigger boats have to be rented in the port of Carles. The crossing takes about 15 minutes.
