Location of Oberbrambach in Saxony

Oberbrambach is a district of the municipality of Bad Brambach in the Upper Vogtland . The village is known as a historically significant spring location with its former soda factory. The street name Sprudelstraße reminds of them.

description

Oberbrambach is an agricultural district of Bad Brambach. In the center of the village there is a pond and a small wooden spring house. This is where the Oberbrambacher Bach originated. The facilities of the former soda factory extend north of the pond. The site only serves as a storage area for the relocated well operations. The modern mineral water bottling plants, which went into operation in 1996, are located to the east of the town and northeast of federal highway 92 .

Local development

Oberbrambach is a Waldhufendorf , which was first mentioned in 1395 as the Prambuch daz . The isolated groups of houses, Frauengrün and Kleedorf, which are largely enclosed by forest, have belonged to the Oberbrambach district since 1938 . According to the 2011 census data, only 92 people live here.

In 1972, the previously independent village was incorporated into Bad Brambach, which was in the valley of the Röthenbach / Fleißenbach and thus deeper.

Mineral springs

When the chemist Wilhelm August Lampadius examined the then well-known mineral springs of the Vogtland for their composition and usability in the area in 1812 , he considered the situation found with a positive assessment in his report. The "Oberbrambacher Säuerling" in the village, therefore also known as the community fountain and referred to by him as source A, was in his eyes an "excellent mineral spring" and could be considered "the most excellent mineral fountain in Germany [...]". Source B is located west of the hamlet in the Lohbach valley cut. Because of the higher iron content here, Lampadius called it "Oberbrambach iron-containing acid".

traffic

Oberbrambach is located immediately west of federal highway 92 . The Plauen – Cheb railway continues to the west past the location without allowing an intermediate stop.
