Bruno Rudau

Bruno Rudau (born October 2, 1891 in Tiegenhof , † December 10, 1970 in Bad Elster ) was a German teacher and local researcher .

Life

Bruno Rudau was born in Tiegenhof near Danzig . After school he went to the University of Königsberg , where he received his doctorate at the Botanical Institute in 1917 with the dissertation Comparative studies on the biology of wood-destroying fungi .

After completing his teacher training, he became a teacher at the Heinrich-von-Plauen-Oberschule in Elbing in 1922 . He later worked from 1935 to 1945 as senior director of studies at the Hermann von Salza high school in Braunsberg . After the Second World War he became the librarian of the scientific libraries of the research institute of the Bad Elster state spa. He became known through several publications on Bad Elster and the Saxon Vogtland.

After the Second World War, he and some citizens were among the founders of a new bathing museum in Bad Elster, which was dissolved as a result of politically motivated decisions.
