Chilhac is a French city and a municipality with 181 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Brioude and the canton Pays de Lafayette (until 2015 canton Lavoûte-Chilhac ). The inhabitants are called Chilhacois .

location

Chilhac is about 37 kilometers west-northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay on the Allier . Chilhac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Privat-du-Dragon in the north, Cerzat in the east, Aubazat in the south and Lavoûte-Chilhac in the west.
