Couteuges ( Occitan identical) is a French municipality with 301 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) is located in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Brioude and the canton Pays de Lafayette (until 2015 Paulhaguet ).

Couteuges is about 32 kilometers northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay . Couteuges is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Salzuit in the north, Paulhaguet in the northeast, Saint-Georges-d'Aurac in the east and southeast, Mazeyrat-d'Allier in the south, Cerzat in the south and southwest and Saint-Privat-du-Dragon in the west.

The National Route 102 runs through the municipality .
