It is located in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ) and belongs to Arrondissement Brioude and the Canton Plateau du Haut-Velay granitique (2015 La Chaise-Dieu ).

Berbezit is about 30 kilometers northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay . Berbezit is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cistrières in the north and northeast, Connangles in the east, Montclard in the south and Saint-Didier-sur-Doulon in the west.
