Javaugues ( Occitan identical) is a French municipality with 189 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Brioude and the canton Pays de Lafayette (until 2015: canton Brioude-Sud ).

Javaugues is about 41 kilometers northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay . Javaugues is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Chaniat in the north and north-west, Saint-Didier-sur-Doulon in the east and north-east, Frugières-le-Pin in the south and Lavaudieu in the west and south-west.
