Chanaleilles is a French municipality with 181 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Brioude , to the community association Les Rives du Haut Allier and to the cantons of Gorges de l'Allier-Gévaudan (until 2015 Saugues ).

Chanaleilles is about 43 kilometers southwest of Le Puy-en-Velay . Chanaleilles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Grèzes in the north, Esplantas-Vazeilles in the northeast, Thoras in the east, Saint-Paul-le-Froid in the southeast, Sainte-Eulalie in the south, Lajo in the west and southwest and Le Malzieu-Forain in the west and northwest .
