The French community Cohade ( Occitan identical) with 863 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) is located in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Brioude and the canton Brioude (until 2015 Brioude-Nord ).

geography

Cohade is about 51 kilometers northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay on the Allier , which borders the municipality in the east. The municipality is also crossed by its tributary Vendage . Cohade is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vergongheon in the north, Azérat in the east and northeast, Lamothe in the southeast, Brioude in the south, Beaumont in the southwest and Bournoncle-Saint-Pierre in the west.

Route nationale 102 runs through the southwest of the municipality .
