Jürgen Sidow

Jürgen Sidow (born May 29, 1927 in Zeitz ) is a German actor and radio play speaker .

Jürgen Sidow received his acting training in Darmstadt and Stuttgart. After the end of the Second World War he had numerous theater engagements at well-known German theaters such as the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg (1949 and 1956–59 under the management of Gustaf Gründgens ), the United Municipal Theaters of Krefeld (1952–55), the German Theater Göttingen (1959 –66, member of the ensemble), the Ulm Theater (1966–68), the National Theater Mannheim (1968/69), the Osnabrück Municipal Theaters (1972–76), the Konstanz Theater (1976–83) and the Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen (1983– 85). He then worked as a freelancer and worked at the Schauspielbühnen Stuttgart (1985–90), at the Zimmertheater Heidelberg and at Swiss theaters in Biel and Basel . Sidow's repertoire includes roles in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing , Goethe's Faust , Borchert's Outside the Door , Büchner's Danton's Death , Schiller's Cabal and Love or Lessing's Minna von Barnhelm . For years he worked with directors such as Gustaf Gründgens, Heinz Hilpert and Heinrich Trimbur , but occasionally also directed himself. Between 1950 and 1988 Jürgen Sidow took part in various radio play productions by German radio companies. He had television roles in some series from the 1960s and 1970s.

Jürgen Sidow is the son of the dramaturge and writer Max Sidow .
