- June 4 to 6: The American aviator Clarence Duncan Chamberlin (1893–1976) flies non-stop from New York across the Atlantic to Germany for the first time, together with a passenger Charles A. Levine. The aircraft, a Bellanca WB2 named “Columbia”, took off from New York on June 4, 1927 (Roosevelt Field, Long Island) and landed in Eisleben near Halle/Saale on June 6. It takes him about 43 hours to cover the distance of 3911 statute miles (6294 km). He then continues his flight to Berlin and lands in Klinge near Cottbus. It only reaches its destination, Berlin-Tempelhof Airport, the next day.
