Jerzy Zgodziński

Jerzy Zgodziński (* 1927 ; † 1996 ) was a Polish percussionist and music teacher.

Zgodziński studied percussion with Leon Urban at the Music Academy in Poznan until 1952 and musicology with Adolf Chybiński at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan . He later completed his training in Darmstadt (1959) and Vienna (1963). From 1948 to 1976 he was concertmaster of the percussion group with the Symphony Orchestra of the Poznan Philharmonic.

In 1957 he organized a percussion class at the Poznan University of Music, from which a nationwide training center in the field of percussion developed. In 1989 he received the title of associate professor. He has given several lectures on percussion music in Poland in the USA and West Berlin.

In 1963 he founded with the Poznański Zespół perkusyjny the first percussion ensemble of Poland, for the composer as Jerzy Bauer , Florian Dabrowski , Krystyna Moszumanska-Nazar , Marta Ptaszynska , Grażyna Pstrokonska-Nawratil , Franciszek Wozniak and Lidia Zielińska works written and the Warsaw Autumn Festival and other Performed festivals for new music at home and abroad.
