Herbert Aulich
Herbert Aulich (born January 12, 1927 in Wüstendorf near Breslau ; † April 9, 2020 in Offenbach am Main ) was a German painter, graphic artist and object artist.
Life
Herbert Aulich studied from 1950 to 1954 at the Werkkunstschule Hannover and at the same time took lessons from Carl Buchheister and Erich Wegner . From 1960 to 1961 he had a teaching position for “scientific graphics and illustration” at the Werkkunstschule Hannover and was a lecturer at the Volkshochschule Hannover for two decades . He illustrated books at the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover . The artist lives in Offenbach am Main .
Aulich's compositions are abstract . He started with geometrically structured development series and then moved on to asymmetrical forms and created constructivist works. He designed glass windows , concrete and metal reliefs , mosaics and murals . In recent years he has also worked with photographs , which he incorporated into drawn - sometimes again realistic - structures.
