The Lovis Corinth Prize of the Artists 'Guild is a German art award for the fine arts that has been awarded by the Esslingen Artists' Guild since 1974 .

Purpose: The prize aims to honor outstanding achievements in the areas of painting, graphics or sculpture by artists who are connected to the cultural landscapes of the East through life and work. The prize was named after the painter Lovis Corinth (1858–1925) from East Prussia .

The award is made by the founder and an expert jury with the Art Forum Ostdeutsche Galerie in Regensburg . The award location was initially Esslingen am Neckar , today Regensburg in the art forum.

Until the year 2000, the honor was associated with a grant of 25,000 DM. Due to austerity measures, the financial support of the artists' guild by the Federal Ministry of the Interior or the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media was discontinued in 2000 .

Up to the year 2000 the prize was awarded annually, from 2000 it will be awarded biennially without endowment. In 2010, after ten years, another donation of 10,000 euros was made.

The honor is linked to an exhibition in the Art Forum Ostdeutsche Galerie in Regensburg.
