Mechthild Frisch

Mechtild Frisch (born April 22, 1943 in Karlsbad , also Mechtild Frisch, until 1986 Mechtild Nemeczek or Mechtild Nemeczek ) is a German painter and object artist .

Life

Frisch moved with her family to Berlin immediately after she was born . From 1964 she studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and from 1965 to 1968 at the Werkakademie Kassel with Arnold Bode . In Kassel she met the features editor Alfred Nemeczek , whom she married in 1967. Until 1986 she worked under the name Mechtild Nemeczek . Some works are also signed as Mechtild Nemeczek-Frisch. In 1967 she moved with her husband to Hamburg and began studying at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts with Rudolf Hausner and Renato Guttuso .

From 1970 she lived and worked in Düsseldorf and moved to Duisburg-Rheinhausen in 1975 and to Cologne in 1977 . 1985 to 1987 she took on a teaching position for painting / sculpture at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf . From 1994 to 2008 she held a professorship for painting at the Art Academy in Münster . She lives and works in Cologne.
