Mark Buehrle (born March 23, 1979 in Saint Charles , Missouri ) is a retired American baseball player .

Buehrle was created in 1998 by the Chicago White Sox ge draftet . He made his debut with the Chicago White Sox in the 2000 season. Since 2001 he has been part of the team's rotation as a starting pitcher with more than 30 starts a year. For the first time in 2002 and then in 2005, 2006 and 2009 he took part in the All-Star Game for the American League .

Buehrle threw his first no-hitter on April 18, 2007 against the Texas Rangers . On July 23, 2009, he succeeded in a home game against the Tampa Bay Rays a perfect game , which is achieved in baseball very rarely. In the same year he also won his first Gold Glove , an award for excellent defensive performance.

In 2012 Buehrle played for the Miami Marlins , with whom he signed a 4-year contract worth $ 58 million. On November 19, 2012, the Miami Marlins negotiated a player exchange with the Toronto Blue Jays . From there on, Buehrle played for the Toronto Blue Jays until 2015 and then ended his active career.
