Art award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Art prizes are awards in the field of fine and applied arts . They are often advertised in the form of a competition from public or private bodies or foundations and awarded for special artistic achievements. Art prizes are just as often decided by independent juries on behalf of the founder without self-application or competition. They are mostly endowed or support the artist through grants .

The tendering of an art prize includes information on the name of the promoter's, to designate the type of competition, the set task and the aim of the competition, the level and nature of the prize and the names of the jurors , the jury . It fixes delivery, collection, posting and exhibition dates and any costs. It guarantees the artist insurance contract benefits , authorship and benefits of the promoter in the event of a positive jury. An art prize is usually only tax-free for the recipient if it was awarded for the artistic life's work and not for individual, prominent works.
