Hessian State Prize for German Crafts

The Hessian State Prize for German arts and crafts is one of the most important awards for German arts and crafts . It is awarded to artisans who distinguish themselves with their self-designed work through outstanding technical and artistic achievements. The award takes place annually as part of the Frankfurt consumer goods fair Tendence . The Hessian State Prize is judged.

history

It was donated in 1951 as the oldest state award in Germany at the suggestion of the Association of Arts and Crafts Hessen eV by the then Hessian Prime Minister Georg-August Zinn to promote German handicrafts and to encourage special achievements in the field of German handicrafts at the Frankfurt fair.
