Monika Riha

Monika Riha (born August 25, 1956 in Spillern ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). She has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council since 2007 .

education and profession

Monika Riha attended elementary school in Stockerau between 1962 and 1966 and then switched to the Stockerau secondary school. From 1970 she attended the educational institution for kindergarten and after-school education in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus , which she finished in 1974. From 1974 to 1981 Riha worked as an after-school care worker for the City of Vienna and then from 1981 to 1992 she worked as an actress on various German-speaking theaters. She then returned to her original job and from 1992 to 1994 headed the company kindergarten at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . From 1994 to 1997 she was also a pedagogical consultant at the Children's Association in Vienna . Since 1997 she has been the managing director of the association.

politics

Monika Riha was Chamber Councilor of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Vienna between 2000 and 2002 and District Councilor in Hietzing between 2005 and 2007 . On January 25, 2007, she moved to the Vienna State Parliament and City Council as a member. According to her own statements, she was politically active primarily in extracurricular education, kindergarten and after-school education and the reconciliation of family and work.

Riha has been the representative of the ÖVP party chairman in Hietzing since 2003.
