The Käthe Kollwitz Prize is an award in Germany and after the artist Kathe Kollwitz named Art Prize .

The prize, founded in 1960 by what was then the Academy of the Arts of the German Democratic Republic , is awarded annually by the Academy of Arts (Berlin) to a visual artist who is honored for a work or for his entire oeuvre. The prize is awarded by a jury whose members are redefined every year. An exhibition in the academy building is associated with the award. Since 1992, the prize money of 12,000 euros (as of 2020) has been co-financed by Kreissparkasse Köln , the sponsor of the Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne.
