Corinne Wasmuht

Corinne Wasmuht (* 1964 in Dortmund ) is a German painter .

life and work

Corinne Wasmuht grew up in Peru and Argentina; since 1983 she has been artistically active in Germany. From 1983 to 1992 she studied at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf (master class with Alfonso Hüppi ). Corinne Wasmuht lives and works in Berlin and Karlsruhe .

The artist paints large pictures in several layers, mostly on wood. Her works are created in a long process of collecting and connecting images. Wasmuht gives the viewer the illusion of a perspective space - on closer inspection, exactly worked out details can be recognized.

Corinne Wasmuht has been a professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe since 2006 . In 2014 she became a member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts , Fine Arts section.
