Heitland Foundation

The Heitland Foundation is an art foundation founded in 1980 by the German entrepreneur Volker Heitland and based in Celle. Between 1980 and 2013 it awarded an art prize of 25,000 euros or 25,000 DM annually to biennially. It also supports visual artists in their training or on a project basis. Since 2015, the private foundation with its platform Heitland Honneur has awarded a prize several times a year to promising international positions in contemporary art.

The organization consists of the Board of Trustees with five members, the Board of Directors with three members and the Protectorium, which changes the composition.
