Art foundation
An art foundation is an institution financed by public or private funds, or both jointly, that advocates the acquisition , preservation or creation of works of art .
Depending on the purpose and objective of the foundation, among other things the financing of purchases for public collections, the preservation of the legacy of deceased or the support of gifted living artists from the fields of the visual, applied or performing arts, literature, music or the Films, belong. The latter can by facilitating the living and working conditions done through scholarships , art prizes , grants , project funding or the purchase of works, but also by organizing exhibitions , lectures , readings and concerts or publications of artist biographies, work catalogs and the like. Patrons , sponsors and donors play a key role in raising funds .
An art foundation also refers to the dedication or permanent loan of a work of art or a collection by an art lover with the aim of knowing that it has been preserved. Such a foundation is required to make the works accessible to the public. This can be done by setting up your own donor museum, or - if the funds are lacking - by exhibiting the works in an existing museum.
