Thomas Huber (born July 14, 1955 in Zurich ) is a Swiss artist .

From 1977 to 1978 Huber studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Basel under Franz Fedier, 1979 at the Royal College of Art in London, from 1979 to 1983 at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf (master class with Fritz Schwegler ). From 1992 to 1999 he held a professorship at the University of Fine Arts, Braunschweig. 1992 Temporary director of the Centraal Museum Utrecht, 2001 Art Museum, new installation of the permanent collection in the Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf with Bogomir Ecker. From 2000 to 2002 he was chairman of the German Association of Artists . Numerous awards, including the 1993 Prize for Young Swiss Art from the Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft and 2013 Prix Meret Oppenheim.

Thomas Huber is an artist who brings text and image into context and speaks to his images. He implements his conception of images in the areas of painting, watercolor, drawing, object, printmaking, art in construction, artist speech and artist book. The picture Speech in the School shows the auditorium in the main building of the Düsseldorf Art Academy .
