reception

Lothar Böhme sticks to the canon of his lonely figure. His concentrated painting on the individual figure continues. But the motif of the female nude is increasingly abandoned in favor of the elementary definition of painting: volume - surface - space. The original act of painting has become more important. The uncompromising painting of Lothar Böhmes, which always stayed away from ideological distortions, today neither has to stand up nor “turn”, it is simply there and in its painterly compactness stands in the room as a vital fact. From the time tunnel of the years, the painter ... lets his long, pent-up, dark creatures step into the public eye with concentrated force "
