Atika Bouagaa (born May 22, 1982 in Offenburg ) is a former German national volleyball player .
Career
Atika Bouagaa started her career in her hometown at VC Offenburg and later moved to Sinsheim. The association recognized her talent and took her on to the Olympic team, in which young players in the Bundesliga are specifically promoted. At the same time she experienced two European and one world championships with the juniors. In 2001, the outside attacker moved to USC Münster . Now she has also been appointed to the senior national team, with which she experienced the 2002 World Cup in her own country. A year later, however, she was able to celebrate her greatest success so far at the European Championships in Turkey , when Germany finished third. She won the double with her club in 2004. Then she took part with the DVV selection after qualifying as the “Miracle of Baku ” at the Olympic Games in Athens . After the games she moved to Volley Modena in Italy . However, she did not feel at home there and therefore returned to Münster in 2005. In the national team, she took a year off due to injuries. She was back at the 2006 World Cup in Japan, but couldn't prevent the team from finishing only eleventh. In summer 2007 she won the European Grand Prix qualification with the team and finished sixth at the European Championships in Belgium and Luxembourg. In the 2007/08 season Atika Bouagaa played in Istanbul. In 2008 she played a few months in Madrid with Voley Sanse Mepaban . From 2009 to 2011 she played again in Germany for Allianz MTV Stuttgart and was DVV cup winner in 2011 .
Private
Atika Bouagaa is one of four children of Tunisian immigrants. In August 2006, the trained insurance saleswoman was appointed integration ambassador by the DOSB .
