The Volleyball Club Offenburg 1985 eV is a sports club from Offenburg , whose volleyball women's team was represented as VC Printus Offenburg in the 2nd Bundesliga South and won the championship three times.

Club history

In the spring of 1985, 150 members resigned from the volleyball department of the ESV Offenburg in order to found their own club. The founding board of the VC Offenburg was formed by the first chairman Norbert Jenner as well as Herbert Kern, Helmut Schmidt and Thomas Vogt, under whose leadership the meeting took place. In 1987 Fritz Scheuer took over the management of the club. In 1996 the number of members was 550 with a youth share of over 50%. In 2000, the VCO's B youth team won the German championship, and a year later the club received the green ribbon for excellent promotion of young talent. In 2002, the men's team of coach Scheuer and Vogt won the promotion tournament of the regional league champions South, Southeast, West and East in Grafing and qualified for the second Bundesliga South . All the players in the winning team have played at the VCO since they were youngsters and come from Offenburg. However, the team rose again in the following season.

The women's team, which achieved promotion to the second-highest German division in 2009 with Fritz Scheuer as coach, did better . In the first year the team finished tenth, in the 2010/11 season with the new coach Tanja Scheuer they managed to improve by one place and in the following season the team finished eighth in the final classification. In 2013 the league was only achieved on the last day of the game, tenth place was only achieved through the better set ratio. As in 2012, the VCO finished eighth in the following two years. In the 2015/16 season, the Offenburg women won the championship of the second league south for the first time, but did without promotion. After the runner-up in 2017, they won the championship again in 2018 and 2019. After that, the team was withdrawn to the 3rd League South for financial and organizational reasons.

The 58-time national player Atika Bouagaa emerged from the youth of VC Offenburg .
