Antonio de Sousa Braga

António de Sousa Braga SCJ (born March 15, 1941 in Santo Espírito , Azores ) is a Portuguese clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Angra .

Life

António de Sousa Braga joined the Congregation of Dehonians at and received on 27 May 1970, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 9, 1996, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Angra. The bishop emeritus of Angra, Aurélio Granada Escudeiro , donated him episcopal ordination on June 30 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop Emeritus of Macau , Arquimínio Rodrigues da Costa , and the Bishop of Coimbra , João Alves .

In 2012 he was accepted as a Grand Officer in the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on March 15, 2016.
